Marianne joined the National Theatre of Scotland in January 2006 as Marketing Manager, going on to become Audience Development Manager in 2009. Beginning her arts career with 7:84 Theatre Company, Marianne has a strong background in engaging with audiences and participants for touring theatre. Her role at the National Theatre of Scotland involves building relationships with the company’s current attenders and participants while finding creative ways for new audiences to discover live theatre.

In a bid to create open access to the National Theatre of Scotland, Marianne has developed a wide range of partnerships spanning the cultural sector including TED, Channel 4, Blipfoto and STV. In 2011, Marianne devised and produced Five Minute Theatre ( leading a cross departmental team to deliver this innovative, award-winning digital project which has successfully reached many thousands of audiences, participants and artists globally.

In 2012 Marianne became a producer at the National Theatre of Scotland and is exploring and developing how the company continues to digitise live experiences; crowd source content and build online audiences. Marianne is also producing the company’s major new production Let the Right One In, performing in spring 2013.
